About The Greenville Area
Located between the cities of Greenville and Spartanburg, the City of Greer has become the center for South Carolina's "Upstate Region." Greer, while rich in history, continues to be a "work in progress" as one of South Carolina's fastest growing cities, boasting a population of more than 20,000 residents. More than three times that number of people pass through our fine city each day on their way to work, shop or play. It is indeed an exciting time to be in our community. Roughly 6 miles the west of Greer is Greenville. Its award winning downtown is the epicenter of arts and entertainment for the Upstate South with live entertainment ranging from ballet and symphony to hockey and indoor football. Local theater companies provide intimate settings for performances. Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, located 12 miles from downtown Greenville on I-85, has undergone a $40 million modernization and expansion, including an enlarged terminal building, a new five-level parking garage, a customs office and expanded restaurant. Passenger service is provided to most domestic and international destinations directly or via convenient connecting hub services. The Greenville Downtown Airport, the third busiest airport in the state, offers a full range of aviation services. Located in the heart of the business district, the Downtown Airport is operated by the Greenville Airport Commission. Area Links |
